La Tancia is located in the heart of Chianti, 15 minutes from Florence, 25 from Siena and San Gimignano and within one hour from numerous other culturally significant points of interest including Volterra, Pisa, Arezzo and the Mediterraniean Sea.
The villa dates back to the 14th century; it has been completely renovated while respecting the original architecture and includes three fully equipped apartments that are avilable on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday.
The La Tancia agricultural comlex produces some of the best wines available in Tuscany including Chianti DOCG, Chianti Riserva DOCG, a barrique-aged Super Tuscany as well as others which are exported to the U.S.A. and elsewhere; the olive oil, primegrade extra virgin, which is first press/cold press is also exported throughout the world.
La Tancia Estate was established in 1743 and today a descendant is currently operating the estate winery which includes 500 acres of vineyards.
