Domaine Billard Gonnet

Established in 1766, this domaine has been passed down through the generations from father to son. During the centuries, the domaine has been acquiring portions of vineyards. Now,in addition to the Pommard village appellations, Domaine Billard-Gonnet has eight premier crus (listed below). The soil in the vineyard is such that production is under the legal limits imposed by French law.

Vinification and aging are done in the most traditional way. The grapes are selected and fermented in open oak vats. Temperature is carefully regulated. When the fermentation is done, the wine is put into small oak barrels for 18 months (longer if necessary).

The principal appellations are:

Pommard 1er cru Les Rugiens
Pommard 1er Cru Les Bertins
Pommard 1er Cru Les Poutures
Pommard 1er Cru Les Champonnieres
Pommard 1er Cru Clos de Verger
Pommard 1er Cru Les Pezerolles
Pommard 1er Cru Les Jarollieres
Pommard 1er Cru Les Charmots
